Join the Swedish School
A Swedish school association for children in Brighton

Welcome to the Swedish School in Brighton!
We are a Swedish school association founded in 1989. With support from Skolverket and members of Svenska Utlandsskolornas Förening, we can effectively manage our operations and obtain resources to develop our teaching.
The lessons we offer are both fun and educational for children of all ages. We meet every Saturday at 10-11.30am at the Loxdale Centre in Portslade to support the children’s language development in Swedish.
Come and be a part of our community here at the Swedish School! Please feel free to contact us for more information or sign up via the link below.

Our school
We are proud to be a parent cooperative, which means that our association is entirely run by volunteer parents. This provides us with the opportunity to create a strong sense of community among all members.

Our lessons
We only speak Swedish during our lessons to make the children more comfortable with the language. But the most important thing of course, is to create a fun and rewarding environment where the children feel comfortable and have fun so that they look forward to coming to the Swedish School every Saturday.

Find the right class
For the younger children, there are more playful classes that introduce them to the basics of the Swedish language through songs, games, and stories. For older children and teenagers, we offer classes that focus on developing their reading and writing comprehension, speaking, and grammar.
