We offer classes suitable for all different age groups and language levels.

It’s important to remember that it’s not just the age that determines which class a child is placed in. The individual language level of each student also matters significantly, so the age group listed below should only be considered as a guideline.

If you’re unsure which class would suit your child best, don’t hesitate to contact us here or through our social media.

Lille Skutt 0-4 years

In this playgroup, the children are up to 4 years old. Parents actively participate with their children during class time, led by one of our dedicated teacher assistants. Here, children have the opportunity to play, sing, and explore books in an environment reminiscent of Swedish preschool.

The activities take place both indoors and outdoors, allowing the children to socialize and play with other Swedish children.

Småtrollen 4-6 years

In this class, we welcome children from the age of 4 and it’s the first class where parents are not present. We follow the Swedish curriculum and use games, songs, and stories to boost children’s confidence in the Swedish language. Through repetition, we practice colors and specific prepositions such as“i”, “på”, “bredvid” and “under”.

After each lesson, we conclude with a fika break where two children have the honor of being waiters, allowing us the opportunity to focus on the importance of saying “tack” and “varsågod”.

Emil och Pippi 6-8 years

In this class, the primary focus is to enhance the Swedish language development of the students, and we communicate only in Swedish during class time. We work on clarifying the differences between English and Swedish sounds, such as å, ä, ö and e, i, c, k and other consonant combinations.

We focus on problem-solving, experiments, and presentations where we aim for students to find their Swedish voice and build up their Swedish vocabulary while increasing their confidence in communicating in Swedish.

Mumintrollen 8-10 years

This class serves as a transition between the play-based classes for younger students and the more academically oriented classes for older students. Although the teaching continues to be play-based, students are now given the opportunity to begin exploring and developing their basic-level writing and reading skills.

We focus on integrating spoken Swedish into our teaching through discussions, stories, and songs. Through these activities, students have the opportunity to practice their oral skills while developing an interest in the Swedish language and its culture.

Älgarna 10-13 years

In this class, we continue to build upon students’ previous knowledge of the Swedish language while focusing on creating a fun and inclusive classroom environment where friendship and community are encouraged. We aim to enhance students’ language skills at different levels by providing diverse instructions that includes speaking, writing, and reading both non-fiction and fiction texts.

By introducing proverbs, poems, and following various types of instructions, we give students the opportunity to explore the language in depth and develop their understanding of both the meaning and usage of different words and expressions.

Kungsörnarna 13-21 years

In our oldest class, we welcome students up to 21 years old and we explore a variety of subjects covering Swedish culture, politics, history and current events. Through a combination of oral and written expressions, we aim to further deepen students’ language knowledge.

We focus on enhancing students’ already advanced Swedish by focusing on grammar and sentence structure. Through this fundamental understanding of language structure and expression possibilities, students can articulate themselves in a nuanced and precise manner.
